106 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if approval will issue for an extensification premium scheme payment for 2001 to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10776/02]
In mid-January 2001, all herdowners who participated in extensification premium in 2000 were sent an EXPR.1 form on which they were required to indicate their interest in participating in the premium for 2001. Under EU regulations the latest date for accepting EXPR.1 forms was 22 May 2001. The availability of EXPR.1 forms and the importance of submitting them on time was widely advertised in the farming and local press.
Since the person named did not lodge an EXPR.1 form with the Department by 22 May 2001, he cannot be considered for payment of 2001 extensification premium. There is no record of the person named having submitted any medical evidence in support of his case.
