584 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if he has received correspondence dated 10 May 2002 from the National Bus and Rail Union in relation to the cessation of all funding under the national development plan for both garage upgrading and bus replacement in Bus Éireann; the progress made in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My predecessor received correspondence dated 24 April from a worker director of Córas Iompair Éireann in relation to a number of issues regarding Bus Éireann. The issues in question were, at the time, the subject of a request for legal advice from the Office of the Attorney General. This legal advice has now been received and is being considered by my Department. A response will issue shortly following full consideration of this advice.
