588 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if there is no change in the current Government policy regarding the early release of those convicted of the murder of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13106/02]
The position in relation to early release for these prisoners has been stated on numerous occasions by both my predecessor and the Taoiseach. I assure the Deputy that this position has not changed and that the Government stance remains that these prisoners are not eligible for release under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement.
