Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Boyle – that the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment address the effect of community employment scheme cuts in the Cork area; (2) Deputy Ferris – the need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to address the grave disquiet among the fishing community along the entire Irish coast at the allocation of some €70 million worth of tonnage plus kilowatts to one vessel; (3) Deputy Wall – the major problems facing staff and students at Brannockstown national school, Kilcullen, County Kildare; (4) Deputy Healy – the decision of Allied Irish Banks to close its Killenaule, County Tipperary, branch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with effect from 18 June 2002; (5) Deputy Morgan – the transfer of the function of imposing planning levies from county and city managers to elected members; (6) Deputy Crowe – the need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to address the renewed and growing crisis in communities, especially in Dublin, with the increased supply of heroin on the streets and the devastating social consequences; (7) Deputy Ring – to ask the Minister for Education and Science to provide a list of all the schools in County Mayo, both primary and secondary, that are awaiting approval of funding for renovations, refurbishments, extensions or new buildings; (8) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the unemployment situation in Killarney, County Kerry; (9) Deputy Connaughton – the proposed cutback of Government funding to the National Roads Authority; (10) Deputy Allen – the catastrophic effect the cuts in community employment schemes will have on the operation of community based organisations such as community associations, sporting organisations and community based social services; (11) Deputy McManus – the need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to initiate an inquiry into illegal dumping in Wicklow and the response of Wicklow County Council; (12) Deputy Sargent – that the Government establish the value in monetary terms and the amount of various fish species taken from Irish waters by non-Irish EU vessels every year since Ireland became a member of the EEC; and (13) Deputy Seán Ryan – the crisis in the Holy Family junior national school, River Valley, Swords, County Dublin whereby parents and guardians of children from the school's catchment area have been informed that their children cannot be accommodated in September 2002.

The matters raised by Deputies Moynihan-Cronin, Wall, Connaughton and Morgan have been selected for discussion.
