Vol. 553 No. 6

Written Answers. - Public Capital Spending.

John Bruton

Ceist:

97 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the 2002 Estimates for public capital spending by his Department; if the net expenditure under headings is likely, on present trends, to be exceeded; and if so, the amount by which in each case. [14584/02]

The Estimate for capital spending by my Department in 2002 is €606.923 million.

Based on present trends and projections the only heading under which the capital allocation is likely to be exceeded is subhead K1, primary school buildings. The Government has agreed to an additional allocation of €19 million for this subhead which will be met from within the existing overall Estimates provision for 2002.

Question No. 98 answered with Question No. 61.
