126 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason leniency is not shown to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary who was only one day late submitting his application for a ewe premium; if this case can be reviewed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. On the basis of the medical certificate submitted to the local office the application under the 2002 ewe premium scheme in this case will be accepted for payment without penalty.

The person named applied for premium for 31 animals under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. He has been paid his full entitlement under this scheme. An advance payment issued on 24 October 2001 with a balancing payment on 5 February 2002. The euro compensation payment for 31 animals issued on 7 May 2002.
