Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

233 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason the 2001 suckler cow grant was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Longford. [15438/02]

The person named applied for premium for 107 animals under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. Following an inspection of the herd it was found that one animal tag number XWVL0004K was not in the herdowner's ownership and possession at the time of application. This resulted in the animal being rejected from the claim with a consequent reduction penalty being applied to the remaining eligible animals. The person named was informed of the outcome and accepted this decision without appeal. He was paid his entitlement on 106 animals subject to a 0.94% reduction penalty on 24 July 2002.

The person named was paid his full entitlements under the 2001 special beef premium scheme, 2001 slaughter premium scheme, 2001 ewe premium scheme, 2001 extensification premium scheme and 2001 area based compensatory allowance scheme.
