342 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will provide additional staff to the lands division in Cavan in view of the current backlog in that section; the actions he intends to take to address this backlog; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16646/02]

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh):

The level of staff resources assigned to the various sections in my Department is kept under constant review. The aim is to ensure the most efficient delivery of quality services that the available finite resources allow. However, I am not aware of the need to provide additional staff to the lands division in Cavan.
