734 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science the way in which spending in the first nine months of 2002 compares to the budgeted profile for spending for each major programme of his Department's spending; and his forecast for year-end overruns. [17165/02]

Overall expenditure at end-September was slightly behind profile due to timing factors. Regarding the forecast end-year position, while there are pressures in certain areas of expenditure, I am keeping the situation under review and I am monitoring it closely.
