I propose to take Questions Nos. 757 and 790 together.

My Department allocates resource teaching posts, special needs assistants and additional teaching hours to vocational education committees to cater for special needs pupils. Applications are made to my Department by the relevant VEC. Each case is considered on its merits and determined on the advice of the psychological service. My Department received an application from County Kildare VEC for additional support for special needs pupils enrolled in Confey College. I am pleased to inform the Deputies that, on the basis of a recommendation from the psychological service, my Department has allocated an additional 18.2 resource teaching hours and 11 hours special needs assistance per week to the VEC for the current school year to cater for special needs pupils enrolled in Confey College.
