In the current year, I have allocated a sum of €4 million for e-government developments within the health services and a number of very worthwhile projects are being progressed. These include the development of an overall health services portal. I am currently finalising the national health information strategy which I intend to launch very shortly. This strategy will pave the way for the full exploitation of all aspects of health information and for the implementation of a wide range of electronic exchanges of information services within and between the community of health service providers and with the public.
