Written Answers. - Naturalisation Applications.
An application for a certificate of naturalisation from the person concerned was received in my Department on 15 May 2002.
Applications for certificates of naturalisation are generally dealt with in chronological order as this method is deemed to be the fairest to all applicants. The average processing time of such applications is approximately 15 months at the present time and it is therefore likely that the application of the person referred to by the Deputy will be finalised in the latter half of 2003.
As soon as I have reached a decision on the matter, both the applicant and the Deputy will be informed of the outcome.
