172 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of consultants who were engaged in relation to the national spatial strategy; the cost to date of these consultants; when the consultative processes will conclude; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A total of €765,726.94 has been paid to the above consultants.
In addition to the above, in October 2000, White Young Green – formerly K. T. Cullen and Company Limited – were engaged to carry out mapping and cartography work for the national spatial strategy and Drury Communications were engaged to assist with the communications campaign for the strategy. Both consultants are still engaged by my Department as the strategy is being finalised. White Young Green have been paid €184,430.13 to date and Drury Communications have been paid €207,423.71 to date. The public consultation process to assist the preparation of the national spatial strategy has now been completed.
