Vol. 555 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Róisín Shortall

Ceist:

182 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the total estimated cost of changes, including the disuse of old stationery, the purchase of new letterheads, stationery, and changes to websites and so on and all other costs incurred as a result of the creation or change in his departmental name and responsibilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18793/02]

The changes in my Department's responsibilities have not resulted in any significant additional costs being incurred to date. As the Department's name remains the same, the issue of changing stationery or discarding old stationery does not arise. Some ICT costs are likely to arise in the future with the consolidation of payroll, HR and financial systems. Some work will also be undertaken establishing electronic links between the various new locations within my Department. A review of the requirements in these areas is ongoing and accordingly cost estimates in relation to these items are not yet available.
