222 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science if an inter-agency working group, as outlined in the White Paper on adult education, Learning for Life, has been established; if so, the recommendations it has on the recognition of qualifications for adult education practitioners; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The White Paper on adult education, Learning for Life, published in 2000, recommended that an inter-agency working group be established to progress the issue of formal recognition of qualifications for adult education practitioners. The recommendations contained in the White Paper are being implemented on a phased basis as resources permit. The inter-agency working group has not yet been established.
