Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Allen – the negative effect that the two year limit on planning permissions is having on the house building programme at a time when house prices are still rising due to supply not meeting demand; (2) Deputy Ring – the need to amend the de-stocking requirement in view of its disastrous effect on rural Ireland; (3) Deputy Timmins – the number of sheep farmers required to de-stock under the framework plans; (4) Deputy Burton – the dispute at St. Vincent's Development Education Centre, Navan Road, Cabra and the impact this is having on holistic care, nursing and education services in the centre; (5) Deputy McGuinness – the need to debate the future of community radio throughout the country in view of the recent announcement by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland; (6) Deputy Neville – the Minister's response to a submission received from the Children's Rights Alliance regarding action to be taken by the 29th Dáil to end child poverty; (7) Deputy Ned O'Keeffe – the death of a person (details supplied) following his release from Mallow General Hospital; (8) Deputy Costello – the need for the Minister for Education and Science to expedite the work of the redress board to ensure that the victims of sexual abuse in Irish institutions are compensated without further delay; (9) Deputy Hogan – the need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to review the regulatory environment in which the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland operates with a view to ensuring that established, properly licensed, community radio stations can continue to operate; (10) Deputy Keaveney – the need to outline the steps the Minister will be taking to secure the future of the whitefish fleet as it pertains to harbours such as Greencastle, particularly after the Fischler remarks; (11) Deputy Connaughton – the need to fund a stand alone bypass for Loughrea, County Galway, and if the Minister will state if compulsory purchase orders need to be applied for so that such a bypass will not be timetabled with the N6 project; (12) Deputy Finian McGrath – the case of the Colombia three, their right to a fair trial and their request for legal representation from the Government; (13) Deputy Boyle – the circumstances under which a meeting was held recently in Cork city with representatives of community and voluntary groups, regarding current and intended changes to the operation of the community employment scheme, without Opposition Deputies despite their many requests to the Minister for State to meet with such groups; (14) Deputy Stanton – the need to debate the situation regarding manning levels and workers' entitlements and pension rights at Irish Fertilizer Industries limited, the adequacy of all safety procedures and the Minister's plans regarding statutory, pension and other entitlements of (former) workers; (15) Deputy Hayes – the need to address the proposed closure of the railway line between Rosslare and Limerick Junction and, in particular, the consequences of the proposed closure on the south east region; (16) Deputy McGinley – the loss of 50 jobs in the Sioen factory in Gweedore Industrial Estate and the unemployment crises which has come about in the area in recent years.

The matters raised by Deputies McGinley, Finian McGrath, Hogan and McGuinness have been selected for discussion.
