John McGuinness

John McGuinness

Ceist:

155 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if a medical card will be renewed in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow. [20942/02]

I propose to answer Questions Nos. 153 and 155 together.

Responsibility for the determination of eligibility to a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board, in these cases the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
