Vol. 557 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Gerard Murphy

Ceist:

357 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Health and Children when he will give the go ahead for the replacement of the existing X-ray screening room equipment at Mallow General Hospital, Mallow, County Cork; in view of the fact that the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland has severely criticised the existing x-ray equipment as so old that parts cannot be obtained to maintain it. [21394/02]

The provision of services at Mallow General Hospital is a matter, in the first instance, for the Southern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter and to reply directly to the Deputy.
