Written Answers. - Performance Related Rewards.
Following the recommendations of the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Sector in its report dated 25 September 2000, the Government decided to introduce a scheme of performance related awards for Civil Service posts at the levels of Assistant Secretary and Deputy Secretary with effect from 1 January of this year. The first payments under the scheme will be made early in 2003.
The funding for the awards is based on 10% of the payroll for the posts covered by the scheme. The cost of awards will be in the region of €1.9 million.
