148 Mr. Naughten asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the reason for the delay in making a decision on an application for a work permit by a person (details supplied); if a decision has been made on same to date; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I have made inquiries with the work permits section of my Department and I understand that the application for a work permit on behalf of the individual concerned was refused on 11 September 2002. An appeal was subsequently received from the employer. A decision on this appeal is imminent.
