175 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when area based payments and suckler cow grants will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21904/02]
The 2002 area aid application of the person named has been fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 16.90 hectares. Payment of the 80% advance under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme will now issue to the person named. He will be paid his full entitlement under the 2002 area based compensatory allowance scheme shortly.

177 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway has not been awarded an area based payment or a suckler cow grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21906/02]
The person named included a land parcel on his 2002 area aid application which overlapped with a land parcel on another herdowner's application. Both parties have been written to in order to clarify the matter and replies are awaited. Until this matter is resolved the area aid application of the person named cannot be fully processed and no area related payments can issue.
