Ceist:

417 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of people who have reported assaults in the Dublin south-west area; and the way in which these reports compare with other areas of the State. [22537/02]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the number of headline assaults causing harm in each Garda division in 2000 is as set out as follows. The southern division of the Dublin metropolitan region comprises the Garda districts of Crumlin, Tallaght and Terenure.

418 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of people who have been murdered in the Dublin south-west area; and the way in which these figures compare with other parts of the State. [22538/02]

I regret that I have been informed by the Garda authorities it has not been possible in the time available to obtain the statistics requested by the Deputy. I will contact the Deputy as soon as the figures in question are available.
