151 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if, in view of the need of the Arklow silver band, which is the current winner of the national championship, for funding for the European Union championship of silver bands to be held in May 2003, he will ensure funding is made available. Applications for funding from Irish artists who wish to perform abroad are considered by the cultural relations committee which then makes recommendations to me in this context. I understand the Arklow silver band has not to date made any such application.
