201 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Finance if he will allow the Arts Council to determine an art form for the purposes of qualifying for the artist's tax exemption; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22524/02]
As indicated to the Deputy in my reply to him on the artist's exemption on Wednesday, 20 November 2002, Question No. 107, determinations of artistic works are made by the Revenue Commissioners, under guidelines drawn up by the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism and the Arts Council, with the consent of the Minister for Finance. I have no plans at present to change the way this works, as suggested by the Deputy.
