Vol. 558 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Pat Breen

Ceist:

226 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Education and Science if he intends to honour his commitments for major post-primary school building projects progressing through architectural planning to invitation of tenders and award of contract; when he will expect the development to commence for the school building project in St. Joseph's, Tulla, County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23931/02]

Ceist:

280 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding the proposed extension for Tulla Community School; the timeframe for the proposed building programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23603/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 226 and 280 together.

While additional accommodation is required at St. Joseph's Secondary School, Tulla, my Department already has an extensive post-primary school's building programme under way with a substantial financial commitment being carried forward into 2003. The matter of allowing additional projects into architectural planning and the progression of existing projects will be determined following the finalisation of the budgetary allocations for 2003.
