Vol. 558 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Board Allowances.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

372 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason the Mid-Western Health Board has refused to replace a 20 year old below the knee prosthesis for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [23697/02]

The provision of technical aids and appliances including prostheses to people with physical or sensory disabilities is a matter for the relevant health board in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Mid-Western Health Board with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Question No. 373 answered with Question No. 339.
