494 Mr. O'Dowd asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the RAPID projects her Department has funded in this financial year; the amounts requested; the amounts granted; and the moneys allocated under her budget Estimates for RAPID in 2003. [23748/02]

The RAPID programme is a cross-departmental initiative under the aegis of my Department. While there is no specific funding provided for RAPID projects in my Department, moneys are available through the family services project, employment support services special projects fund and the family resource centre programme, which can be applied in RAPID areas.

In 2002 to date five RAPID projects have been funded by my Department. A total of €175,900 has been requested and allocated or approved. The following table outlines the position with regard to individual projects:
