88 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the details of the beef summit he plans to hold shortly; the names of the participants; the items to be addressed; if members of the public can attend; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25341/02]
I will host a meeting on 9 December to which I have invited the leaders of the main farming organisations, IFA and ICMSA, as well as the Irish Meat Association, along with the chief executives of a number of the larger beef export plants. I have also invited An Bord Bia. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the beef market outlook for the period ahead and to discuss the optimum strategy to be pursued in the overall interests of the beef industry. An Bord Bia will present a paper which will lead the discussion.
