Written Answers. - Taxi Licences.
Under the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 to 2002, the processing of applications for the grant of taxi licences and the granting of such licences are matters for the licensing authorities.
I am informed that 3,913 licences were granted up to November 2000 and that by last November this figure had increased to 11,630.
