347 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will request a report from the Garda authorities in Dublin 1 in response to the issues raised in correspondence (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26407/02]
I have been informed by the Garda authorities that in relation to the issues raised in the correspondence referred to, there is no record of this incident being reported and neither was there any such incident recorded for the North Strand during the period in question.
However, I understand that local Garda management arranged for the complainant to call to Fitzgibbon Street Garda station on 14 December 2002 where she discussed the incident and clarified the location. The complainant was reassured that the area concerned receives regular attention from patrolling gardaí.
