Ceist:310 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will request the Colombian authorities to move the three Irish citizens back to Bogota jail for the duration of their trial and to ensure their safety. [1224/03]

On my instructions, the Irish Embassy in Mexico has already made several representations to the Colombian authorities to have the three Irishmen returned to Bogota, and the Embassy will continue to press for this. We have also continually emphasised to the Colombian authorities the paramount importance of ensuring the men's safety.
