An application for resource teacher support in respect of the person in question is among a large number of such applications which were received in my Department prior to 8 November 2002, and due for response in the week commencing 9 December 2002.
However, a review of the applications in question highlighted significant departures from the required procedures for seeking such resources. As a result, arrangements were made for officers of the national educational psychological service to call to all the schools involved, including the school in question, to verify the data submitted by them in support of their applications. The NEPS review is now almost complete and my Department will be contacting the applicant schools very shortly to advise them of their allocation.
