727 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of medical cards that have been withdrawn from people every month for the past 12 months in the Midland Health Board area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1875/03]
The determination of eligibility of applicants for medical cards is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board. Accordingly, my Department has referred this particular matter to the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board and asked that he reply directly to the Deputy.
