Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Phil Hogan

Ceist:

797 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the processing of a visa for a person (details supplied) through the embassy in Thailand can be expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1655/03]

The visa application in question was refused on 6 January 2003 because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant would observe the conditions of a visit visa.

It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department. In this regard, the immigration division, which includes the visa office, has moved to 13-14 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2.
