875 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the background meetings held with a group leading up to the allocation of moneys to Friends of St. Michael's for repairs and refurbishment to the art work in St. Michael and All Angels Church, Millicant, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has not participated in such meetings.

I understand that the church body has been in contact with the Heritage Council regarding funding but that an application has yet to be formally submitted to the council. It would be a matter for the church body to pursue the question of an application further with the Heritage Council.
