Pádraic McCormack

Ceist:

932 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will make available approximately ?391,000 to Galway City Council to enable it to take in charge sewerage services to Ballybrit, Galway from the IDA as this is the estimated cost of bringing the sewer up to the standard necessary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1690/03]

I refer to the reply to Question No. 686 of 5 November 2002.

Pádraic McCormack

Ceist:

933 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will make available grants for group water schemes and group sewerage schemes in rural areas within city boundaries; his Department's plans to rectify an anomaly (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1691/03]

Under the devolved rural water programme, grants are available from county councils for group water and group sewerage schemes in areas where alternative public services are not provided or are not readily available. I have no proposals to extend the grants scheme to include the functional areas of city councils.

Questions Nos. 934 to 936, inclusive, answered with Question No. 889.
