Ceist:40 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the way in which and the date, the substance flumethrin has been approved for use in bee keeping products; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2265/03]

The Irish Medicines Board, which is the competent authority, has informed me that the substance flumethrin is an active ingredient in a veterinary medicine which is indicated for the treatment of certain conditions in bees. It has been licensed by the board since 1993.
