Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Lynch – the lack of respite places for the elderly in the Southern Health Board area; (2) Deputy Ring – to ask the Minister what progress if any she has made in reaching a resolution of the dispute with the Irish Dental Association considering that this matter is of national and major importance; (3) Deputy Murphy – to ask the Minister to make a detailed statement on the setting up of new special protection areas and how he assesses what impact they will have on family farms; (4) Deputy Upton – that the Minister for Education and Science give priority to the long-promised primary school for Cherry Orchard; (5) Deputy Olivia Mitchell – to ask the Minister for Health and Children to outline what action he is taking to establish clear responsibility for enforcing the law in respect of the practise of medicine by unqualified personnel and to explain and prevent a reoccurrence of the situation whereby all relevant agencies failed to respond to protect the public from the ministrations of a complete impostor posing as a GP; (6) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the reason for the ongoing increase in waiting lists for orthodontic treatment in the Southern Health Board area; (7) Deputy O'Sullivan – the need for the Minister for Education and Science to intervene to ensure that the appointment of education welfare officers can proceed without further delay under the terms of the Education (Welfare) Act 2000; (8) Deputy McGuinness – the urgent need to discuss the River Nore flood relief scheme given the discovery of PCBs in the soil removed from the river bed and the health and safety concerns of the general public; (9) Deputy Neville – the provision of a radiotherapy service in the Mid-Western Health Board area; (10) Deputy O'Shea – the need for a radiotherapy unit at Waterford Regional Hospital; (11) Deputy Michael Moynihan – to ask the Minister for the Environment and Local Government for full details of the proposals by Dúchas to designate an area of special protection for the hen harrier in the north west Cork area.

The matters raised by Deputies O'Sullivan, O'Shea, Murphy and Michael Moynihan have been selected for discussion.
