322 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if formal recognition will be granted to the South West Pelagic Advisory Committee in the same way as recognition has previously been granted to its equivalent body in the north west. [4515/03]

Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources (Mr. D. Ahern):

I have already agreed to the establishment of an advisory committee for management of the Celtic Sea herring stock.

My Department is currently finalising the necessary arrangements which I would expect to take place in the near future.
