Vol. 561 No. 6

Written Answers - Anti-Competitive Practices.

Seamus Kirk

Ceist:

69 Mr. Kirk asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if her attention has been drawn to the anti-competitive practices by multiples in relation to independent suppliers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5095/03]

It is not clear from the question what practices or types of practice the Deputy has in mind. I would point out, however, that any practice or activity engaged in by undertakings or associations of undertakings which infringe the competition rules of the Competition Act 2002 are open to investigative and enforcement action by the Competition Authority as well as to private legal action by persons aggrieved by the infringement.
