216 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason the 25% balance of a brucellosis compensation has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and when it will be awarded to this person. [5191/03]
The district veterinary office's decision to apply a penalty in this area was appealed by the person concerned to my Department's ERAD division. It is necessary to withhold the 25% balance until the appeal process has been concluded. I understand that a decision in this appeal is imminent and that the person concerned will be notified shortly of the final decision in this matter.
