335 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education and Science the purpose of his Department's circular to the management of all primary schools requiring all parents of children attending primary schools to give their PPS number to the school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department requires the PPS number of each child to be obtained by a school at the time of enrolment in order to facilitate the identification of pupils, for administrative purposes in the school and to ensure compliance with valid enrolment procedures.
