Ceist:300 Ms Harkin asked the Minister for Education and Science the conditions imposed by the EU in relation to funds provided for the establishment of Sligo Education Centre. [7825/03]

Under the 1994-1999 Community Support Framework, capital funding towards the establishment of education centres was provided through the European Regional Development Fund under the vocational training infrastructure measure of the operational programme for human resources development.
In 1999 the establishment of Sligo Education Centre was EU aided under this measure on the basis that it fell within the aims and objectives of the measure, that the declaration of expenditure complied with the fact sheets issued by the European Commission on eligible expenditure under the Structural Funds and that it complied with the relevant Commission regulations regarding the management and control systems for assistance granted under the Structural Funds.
