Vol. 563 No. 4

Written Answers - Speech Therapy Service.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

390 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the speech therapy services provided in the Old County Road health centre; the number of school children who received speech therapy services; the number of speech therapists employed, in each of the past five years; if screening will continue in the Old County Road service; and the improvement he proposes to make in this service in the coming year. [7631/03]

The provision of health related services, including speech and language therapy, to people with physical and-or sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
