400 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny can be transferred to the Sacred Heart Home or Bethany House, Carlow, in view of the proximity of this person's relations to this location; if the costs of Avondale nursing home will be met fully by the SEHB in view of the fact that this person has no means and that they were placed in this home without consultation or request from their son; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children (Mr. Callely)

As the Deputy may be aware responsibility for the administration of health services in Counties Carlow and Kilkenny rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply direct to him as a matter of urgency.
