321 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of prosecutions, convictions and closure orders obtained since the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2000 came into force; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10583/03]
322 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of prosecutions and convictions for the sale and supply of intoxicating liquor in licensed premises and clubs to persons who are already intoxicated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10584/03]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 321 and 322 together.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that the numbers of prosecutions, convictions and closure orders obtained for the offence of selling alcohol to under age persons since the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2000 came into effect on 6 July 2000 and until 31 March 2003 are as follows:
