McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children if additional funding will be made available to the health boards to pay their employees the arrears of benchmarking due for payment in April 2003; the amount payable to each health board for such purposes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Funding has been allocated to my Department in the revised Estimates volume to fund the payment by health boards of the first phase of the pay recommendations of the public service benchmarking body to eligible employees in the health service. The process of allocating funding, from available resources, to each health board-authority is currently under way.
