673 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of new Garda personnel that have been assigned to the Donegal division since 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12193/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the day to day allocation of resources, including personnel, that 21 probationer gardaí have been allocated to the Donegal division on first allocation since 31 December 1997.

674 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the Garda stations to which the newly recruited gardaí have been posted to in the Donegal division since 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12194/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the detailed allocation of resources, including personnel, that since 31 December 1997, probationer gardaí have been allocated on first allocation to the following Garda stations: Ballyshannon; Buncrana; Donegal; Glenties; Letterkenny; and Milford

I have been informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the day to day allocation of resources, including personnel, that the number of Garda personnel – all ranks – that have retired each year in the Donegal division since 31 December 1997 is as follows:

As at 6 May 2003, five members attached to the Donegal division have retired in 2003. Of the personnel currently attached to the Donegal division, one member is due to retire in 2003 on compulsory age grounds.
