320 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if the entries into the medical and nursing records of a person (details supplied) are correct; the reason a general practitioner was not available to this person between 6.00 p.m. and 2.30 a.m. on 9 July 1997; the reason a person (details supplied) was not informed of this person's discharge from St. Luke's to elsewhere other than their home on 8 July 1997; the reason on their re-admission and subsequent death this person listed by the hospital as next of kin, was not informed; if all of the records of care, including administrative, are still available; if these records will be made available to this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of services at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, is a matter for the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position and to reply directly to the Deputy.
