Vol. 566 No. 3

Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

Róisín Shortall

Ceist:

356 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department has been notified by the Northern Area Health Board of difficulties presented by lack of funding and the recruitment embargo which has resulted in Cuan Ros, a public nursing home, cancelling all respite care; his Department's response to the health board on this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12922/03]

Responsibility for the provision of health services in the Dublin 7 area rests with the Northern Area Health Board operating under the aegis of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. The authority has been allocated additional revenue funding of €7.116 million for services for older people in 2003. It is a matter for the authority to determine its priorities in the light of the available funding.
